Car lockouts (key-related)
Locked out because of a lost, broken, or dead key or fob? We handle vehicle lockouts when the key itself is the problem. Lockout details →

Washed your fob? It's one of our most common calls.

Pockets get forgotten. A trip through the washer doesn't always kill a remote — but moisture can damage the electronics inside, and every extra button press while it's wet makes survival less likely.

If it just happened: take the battery out, let the fob dry out completely, and leave the buttons alone. If it works once it's dry, you got lucky. If it doesn't, the remote likely needs replacement and programming to your vehicle — which is exactly what we do, on-site.

What affects price and time: the year, make, and model, the key type, and whether you still have a working key. A duplicate from a working key is usually simpler than a lost-all-keys job. Some vehicles need OEM parts, PIN/security access, or special programming, and some aftermarket keys may not work — we'll be honest about your specific vehicle before any work starts.
Makes we service

Common questions

FAQ

I put my key fob through the wash — is it dead?
Not always. Take the battery out and let the fob dry completely before pressing any more buttons — moisture can damage the electronics, and some fobs survive a wash while others don't. If it still won't respond once it's dry, the remote likely needs replacement and programming. Call with your year, make, and model and we'll tell you what that takes.
My fob stopped working — is it the battery?
Sometimes. Cold weather can make an already-weak fob battery act up, but not every fob problem is a battery problem. Give us the year, make, and model and we'll diagnose it properly.
Can you program a fob I bought online?
Sometimes — some aftermarket remotes work and some don't, and some vehicles need specific OEM parts or security access. Tell us the exact vehicle and we'll let you know before you waste money.
Do push-start and regular keys program differently?
Yes. Push-start proximity fobs and insert/turn keys use different systems, so tell us which one you have so we can quote you faster.
